Organize a unique and engaging virtual event for your residents, members, or community. Hosted by GeriActors over Zoom, a listening session invites participants to listen to and discuss one of our audio plays. Listening sessions are ‘pay-what-you-can’ and are open to groups of all ages and from anywhere in Canada.

Our Audio Plays:
At the end of the play, listeners are invited to stay and discuss the play, connect with fellow listeners, and share their own stories.

  • Way Back (30 minutes): A kaleidoscope of true stories – growing up during WWII, farm life in Alberta and Sri Lanka, birth and motherhood, growing up in Trinidad, and more – this play remembers the moments of joy, hardship and triumph we all experience.
  • Reading the Signs (15 minutes): Just as they are inventing rear view cameras, warning buzzers for changing lanes, and self-driving cars, Jack has to give up driving.
  • Spinning the Bottle (20 minutes): From the 60’s to today four people share their stories of coming out and finding their family.

What to expect:

  • Listening sessions are approximately 45-60 minutes long including the play and discussion.
  • Sessions will take place on Zoom. If you are not familiar with Zoom you can visit the Zoom website here.
  • The maximum capacity for each session is 80. Please note, registration is per device not per person. If participants will be listening with someone else on the same device that will only count as one.
  • A week before your scheduled listening session we will send you a Zoom link/dial in number to distribute to your group.
  • Listeners will want a quiet space and a device with speakers (phone, tablet, computer).
