Our classes and workshops are a great way to get creative, meet new people, share stories, and laugh! GeriActors combines playfulness with technique to create unique and fun theatre programs for ages 55+. Whether you have a history in the theatre, have always dreamt of performing, or just want to try something new, this is the perfect place to start.

We have a wide range of performance-based classes and workshops to get those creative juices flowing. All our programs are facilitated by local theatre educators and artists ready to share their “theatre know-how” with you.


Acting: Script to Stage
Saturdays, 1-3pm
March 9, 16, 23, April 6, 13, 20, 27, May 4 (no class on March 30)

Are you a budding thespian? Have you always wanted to perform on the stage? Combining playfulness with acting technique, this class will teach you how to take a play from the script to the stage. Participants will explore a variety of techniques including stage movement, character development, and unpacking a script. During this 8-week class participants will work on a short one-act play and have the opportunity to perform for family and friends. Jump in and have fun on the stage!

Improv: Creativity Unleashed
Fridays, 1-3pm
April 12, 19, 26, May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31

Improv is all about spontaneity, collaboration and, most importantly, FUN! During this 8-week class, participants will develop a strong foundation in improvisation learning how to create characters and make up stories on the spot. Upon completion of the class participants will have the opportunity to share what they’ve learned with an improv performance for family and friends. This class is perfect for all levels including anyone who has never done improv before or for those who want to hone their improv skills. “No scripts and no plans – all you need is YOU!”

  • Registration fees – GeriActors strives to ensure our programs are affordable for all. If the cost of any of our programs is a barrier please contact us at or 780-248-1556.
  • Refund policy – Cancellations made up to 7 days prior to the start of the program will receive a refund minus a $25 administration fee. There are no refunds after that time.
  • Class cancellation – If it is necessary to cancel a program participants will be notified prior to the start date and issued a full refund of registration fees.

  • We ask that participants stay home if they have any symptoms of COVID-19, even if mild and even if they are fully vaccinated.
  • COVID-19 guidelines and protocols may be subject to change. If new protocols are needed we will update participants as soon as possible.
